Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised. The aromas of apricot, melon and herb are clean, floral and intense. And the flavors of grapefruit, orange and peach are sweet but persist into a long finish, making it a great apéritif. This is a really good value, a good value at a bargain basement price. It is dry, firm and bone dry, with complex flavors of pineapples, pears, green apples, vanilla meringue pie, vanilla custard and crème brûlée. Crisp acidity makes it clean and crisp. Production was 1,685 cases. A blend of 66% Syrah and 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is exceedingly aromatic, with notes of sweet smoke, mint, cocoa powder and secondary-grape flavors. Give it until 1965 to see it at its best; at least it`s a little more elegant.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised in the Marlborough appellation. Flavors of matchstick, apple and grapefruit are slightly stalky, and the wine feels, ooze and smooth. As it airs out, apple flavors come through with some oomph. Drink up. This value wine is a blend of Upland Vineyard Syrah and Oakville Syrah, and it shows the dual properties of ripe, pristine fruit and gritty tannins. As it airs out, apple and dark cherry flavors come alive, carrying some notes of leaf and earth. The midpalate simply explodes with power and finesse. This is a very good, medium-bodied wine. It has the classic Chilean Handley style, in which you characterise white Bordeaux grapes by their crispness and herbaceous character. Fruit flavors are more rounded and concentrated than in the past, and the wine reveals great acidity as it moves through the finish. Screwcap.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised. It`s dry, crisply acidic and softly delicious, with pleasant citrus, peach, pear and green apple flavors. Don`t expect extra complexity but enjoy it now. Modeled on a Right Bank note, this is roughly a medium-bodied, lightly oaked Chardonnay with simple fruit flavors of peach and melon. Drink it over the next year. A little green and underripe, with some buttercup acidity. The apple- and citrus-skin flavors are wrapped in an overlay of caramel and spice. Merlot`s first Argentine Pinot, this is dry and crisply drinkable. It`s light in body, dry and soft, with modest cherry, cola and oak flavors. This pretty Moscato d`Asti with vanilla and pineapple as the aromas arettle nose and hot fruit flavors. It`s not that complex but it`s enjoyable, if a little aggressive, especially at this price.
Wine experts say this White wine shows the kind of peppery complexity found in some Viogniers. But it`s also ripe, peppery and mildly sweet in anise-spiced cherries and blackberries. What it lacks in subtlety it more than makes up for in richness. Drink now. An earthy hint colors the pear notes which on the palate acquire a fresh, almost floral quality. The dry palate is zingy and tight; it has an earthy, rustic edge but also a vastness of fruit and spice that nonetheless shows some real elegance. Rector`s Pride Valley bottling is excellent but more especially fine. A rich nose of blackberry and licorice mixes with marzipan on the nose of this Cabernet Franc from a solid vineyard in the valley. The finish is dark, oaky and lingering.
