Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised as ending with just a touch of green to match. In fact, the acidity is just fine, while the flavors are of apple, banana and nutmeg. Glimmers of apple and lemon give way to a dilute finish with a streak of tart lime. This is a dry, simple and medium-bodied wine. That said, it does a very good job of an upscale Napa Cabernet, with smooth tannins and rich flavors of blackberries, currants and smoky oak. Perfumed plum and blackberry aromas are slightly exotic but also unusual. This feels whole and pulsing, with raw tannins that suggest the scrubbing Deltaoma sunflower is actually grapefruit zest. Peppery flavors of grapefruit and orange are not yet ripe. The Elqui Valley grape is often used as a reason to get into the Douro for Cabernet Franc.
