Wine experts say this White wine shows the qualities of great value. It`s bone dry, brisk in acidity and dry, yet incredibly complex on the palate. Oak overtones and sautéed wild mushrooms add to the red-plum flavor and gooseberry notes on the finish. Drink now–2014. Full-bodied, broad and a bit oily in texture, this is a rather full-bodied wine, with cleansing acidity and ripe apple and plum flavors. Good for Maule Chardonnay, but one look at the Lewis Estate Vineyard shows otherwise. The vanilla and butterscotch aromas on the nose are not yet friendly. This wine feels flabby, with moderate acidity. Flavors of almond, honey and butterscotch are not very fruity, while the finish is sweet, with butterscotch flavors.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised because it`s luminous, perfumed and semi-sweet. The aromas feature delicate spring flowers and apricot, while the flavors are more earthy and complex. Drink now. Berry aromas come with spice, earthy notes and smoky, loamy notes. This is full, chunky and broad in feel, with flavors of earthy raspberry and black plum. Dry and peppery on the finish. Apples and pears, notably pear and grapefruit, mark this dry and fruity wine. It`s delicate in body, but brisk and spry, with austerity. The finish is racy and fresh. Round, soft and slightly unrefined, but that`s how Shirazocco seems to be lacing these kinds of ripe fruits. It`s simple and a little heavy. Harsh and hot, with lusty, roasted blackberry and cherry flavors.
Wine experts say this White wine shows more Champagne elegance than in the past. Here the balance has been in place for some years and the fruit has turned out well. The aromas suggest ripe berry, chopped herb and a touch of exotic spice. This is a correct wine with smooth tannins and a short but clean finish. A little sharp, but easily this is fine; ripe raspberry and cherry fruit comes through strongly, and there is a lip-smacking finish. Fresh and balanced, this is a good, all-purpose Chardonnay, with its dry acids and minerality. The flavors, from copper to lime, are well-defined, and the wine finishes with a crisp, clean feel. Easy to find, with 13,200 cases produced. The 2004 and 2005 vintages of this wine were very re-named after the famous Beaujolais. They gave a wine that is redolent of perfumed berries, dried leaves, and white currants.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised as it`s dry, creamy, smooth and bone-dry. The `04 is no exception. It starts with subtle apple and stone fruit aromas, then delivers medium acidity and a fresh, refreshing feel. With its good score, there`s the impression of sweetness to which some nectarine and almond flavors are compared, and which, in turn, add up the tannins. Drink this wine now. Earthy, woody berry aromas are spicy and a bit green. This is a thick, thick, oaky Chardonnay, with blackened, stewed flavors of beef stew and raisin. That said, it`s still pretty tannic, with a chewy, succulent bite that`s the backdrop for intense, long-lasting finish. Drink through 2020. Impressive for a $12 Old Vine Zin, this wine is spicy and full of mushrooms that get the full benefit of the winemaking techniques employed.
