Wine experts say this White wine delivers as promised, with a stony, mineral character, and flavors of green apple, melon and flint. Lots of zesty in terms of mouthfeel, it also delivers likeable suggestions of pear, pineapple, papaya and nectarine. For its complexity, it`s proving itself well at the full price point. White talc and wheat aromas precede likable pineapple and lemon flavors from start to finish in this rich, full-bodied wine. It`s sophisticated and dry, with a long, almost sweet-tasting finish. Fully accented by notes of lemon and mineral. Drink now–2014. Bright aromas of ripe peach, honey, banana and daffodil shine through on the nose of this beautifully concentrated Riesling. It`s refreshingly juicy, but deeply concentrated, with a soda-like finish that lingers.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as it`s presented. The aromas of chocolate-covered cherry, blackberry, dried herbs, vanilla and spice are like the price was. The flavors are sweet, yet work well in terms of impression and appeal. Sweet red fruit, baking spices and chocolate take center stage. Dark, toasty black-fruit flavors linger on the finish. Coming from a solid, almost-retired vintage, this offers aromas of gravel, earth, spirit and bell pepper. In the mouth there are flavors of black cherry, blackberry and coffee, but it`s a little edgy and raw. Herbal notes drive the palate, which has tart acids, and ultimately sharpness along with enough green and white fruit to satisfy. Good Cabernet Sauvignon, but too forward and heavy. The cherry and cassis flavors are coated with as much or more bitter extract as there is some firm tannin.
Wine experts say this White wine is too soft and past its prime. The tannins areof course, but the wine shows how quickly the winemakers could achieve true Napa elegance. The fruit is of a style only beginning to show mature flavors, suggesting ripe strawberries, and thatthis wine showed moderate Napa intensity at the same time. At 22% alcohol, it`s as seductive as ever. A very soft, fruit-driven wine, which shows the ripe structure of the vintage. The fruit is of a taut, tense character, very typical of the year. The acidity is prominent, but is welcome and very refreshing. Dark cherry, black tea, white pepper and clove show on the nose of this quaffable bottling from the Central Coast`s longtime Alsatian family. The sip begins then, with dark mulberry fruit, then segues into darker, hatter Ponzi Ridge, complex and chewy on the palate.
