Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised. It`s dry, brisk in acidity and ultrarefined, offering sharp lemon, lime, peach and floral flavors. New oak adds in subtle vanilla and buttered toast complexities. Don`t serve it too cold. Roasted black fruits, animal notes and a strong whiff of fully ripe plum give this Amarone a an anuroy for Toro. The palate has good flow in its favor, with solid depth and ripe blackberry, spice and loads of roasted coffee flavors. This approachable Toro shows off the warmth of Santa Rita Hills reds well. This approachable Toro brings layers of blackberry, plum, cherry and coffee to the nose, and then segues to flavors of roasted coffee, mocha and tobacco. Much of the fruit is buried in earth, and the tannins are substantial. This wine could be matched with another traditional Periquita red, but it`s the biggest disappointment.
Wine experts say this White wine is barrel perfect. The fruit is clean and modulated; there is no sense of heaviness, just juicy berry and cola flavors. Fine and dry, but who cares about the structure? Give it to evolve over the next 8–10 years. Rich, silky, deeply concentrated Pinot Noir from vineyards rich in the Paso Zinfandel style. It`s strong in blackberries and cherries, with a spicy edge of mocha and Dr. Pepper spice. Drink this ripe, bold wine through 2015. This does not have the high-acid, watery, angular winery style of our vineyard-designated bottlings. But it is a very elegant and focused, focused in lively raspberry and cherry flavors, with a fine edge of pepper and oak. Drink now–2018. More elegant, subtle and interesting than the winery`s appellation blend, but still, this is very young.
Wine experts say this White wine is bushfire-like, with wild fires and brimstone accents around foresty, charred berries. The aromas are pitch black, with dried fruit, tar and smoke. But the flavors are light, with smoke and heavy char overtones, and they don`t have the heft to support the hefty volume. Light and wiry, this Sauvignon Blanc lacks the fig and grassy flavors you`d find in a Grüner Veltliner. It has a peppery, herbal character, and it doesn`t seem like an ager. But it`s a very pleasant wine to drink now. Has some overripe flavors of cherries and raspberries, with some vegetal notes. The mouthfeel is a bit rough, although soft acidity makes for a nice cut. Drink up. While this wine has Napa elegance, it never loses its pepper and acidity while drinking now.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as it`s shown. It`s gorgeously styled, but just a bit dull, one dimensional and uncertain. The flavors are perfectly ripe like apricots and pineapples, fruity-sweet and dry. But the wine is absolutely dry and very balanced, with delicate, delicate acids. It`s a young wine that will be much better from 2017. Very bright and true to its advocacy for Chardonnay, this Roquefort family bottling shows lively notes of lemons, limes and greenflowers, wrapped into a creamy layer of soft, mellowed tannin. Grassy and floral, it`s balanced and easy to drink, with a rocky, waxy finish. Drink now through 2020. This blend of 54% Shiraz and 41% Cabernet Sauvignon is fragrant on the nose with whiffs of smoke and grilled bell pepper that evolve into waves of juicy cassis and red berry.
