Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised in the Marlborough appellation. Structure and good acidity underpinned by red currant and berry fruit flavors, finish full bodied, plenty of 51% Merlot and a tiny bit earthy. Drink now–2015. The `06 Merlot is in a funny place. It`s somewhat generic, with some cherries and cola, and a cut of neither oak nor tannins. Feels flat, almost sour, and tastes thin. There`s a toughness to the mouthfeel of this Cab. It`s very dry and silky and crisp, with slightly one-dimensional black currant flavors. Both the texture and the feel of this wine are impressive. The center of the wine has acidity, while the fruit has a creamy character that is fresh and sprightly. A sure-fire way to approach this new winery, the wine should be aged 7–10 years and possibly longer.
