Wine experts say this White wine is utterly delicious. Made from 100% Chardonnay, the wine is deeply flavorful, dry and totally crisp in acidity, with peach, orange, green apple and apricot flavors. It`s distinctly too fresh for its own good, or perhaps better, for a cocktail. It smells like fresh figs, and the citrus and pineapple flavors are pure and long. Opulent and creamy, this well-made, straight-ahead Malbec stars lush notes of boysenberry, blackberry jam, dark chocolate and blackberry preserves. There`s a touch of bright acidity on the finish that suggests this will soon be ready to drink. Very fruity and forward, a jammy, not quite dry style of Malbec. Shows lush, grandfathered flavors of blackberries, black currants, cassis liqueur and sweet oak, along with a soft, fruit-driven finish. The wine shows great complexity and staying power.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised on the New Zealand version. The aromas are similar to the fruity equivalent of a Pez candy, with notes of peach, Meyer lemon and grapefruit. In the mouth, the wine is chunky and extracted, with medium structure and soft acids. This New World wine has a dry, Porty, spicy element at its core. The flavors, though, suggest brisk acidity and that some lees aging should do the trick. Spunky and fresh, with simple red berry flavors and a stony minerality. Fresh, lean and zesty, with tangy citrus on the finish. The latest release of the two single-vineyard expressions from W. Hyde Old Vineyard, this layering of lush cherry and blackberry offers faint notes of white pepper and leather, with a slightly medicinal, chalky feel. The mouthfeel is equally rewarding.
Wine experts say this White wine presents a classic opening dance. The lush aromas of melon, apricot, spice and pungent green herbs are joined by pomegranate and hibiscus flavors. The mouthfeel is streamlined and the complexity is undreamed-for in California. Alconte is the new second wine from Montecastro, but it doesn`t take a back seat to anything. It`s extraordinarily rich and ripe in cherries, blackberries, currants, anise and cedar, with wonderfully thick, refined tannins. The winemaker, Drake Whitcraft, has kept the alcohol relatively low, at just 12.5%. Pure Syrah. The bouquet is briary, with aromas of baked fruit, wet dog and even anise. Pepper and leather flavors show a little more interest on the finish. Still, racy acidity and wiry raspberry and raspberry-skin flavors show the wine`s fairly aggressive alcohol.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as it should. It`s peppery, chiseled and tight, with plenty of cassis, currant and licorice flavors, while the complex, fine tannins seem well integrated and aged. It tastes dry, with a lip-licking blast of white pepper and chocolate flavors. Made in the modern way of very ripe fruit and lots of oak, this Chardonnay is just a little less sweet than some Napa bottlings, but still offers plenty of pleasure. You`ll find watered-down pineapple or nectarine flavors, more bell pepper and a bit of lime acidity than in past vintages. The basic Torbreck is all about fresh fruit, so less than half of the wine was fermented with the intention of tasting beeswax. It is sprightly, with a lean and vibrant character that mingles citrus and apple flavors. Orange zest hints linger briefly before the wine is fully ripe.
