Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised because it`s bone dry, with consistent acidity and a clean, precisely crafted feel to it. The flavors are of citrus and melon, with a sweet overlay of toasty oak. Pair this wine with lemon cheese or apricot-candy jam. Full-bodied, thick and viscous, this ripe Pinot lusciously dazzles the palate with plump cherry and strawberry flavors, liberally oaked, with smooth, supple tannins. Near perfect in acidity, it suppleens gracefully and tangles up through a long finish. Stone-fruit and melon aromas are simplistic. This feels good but limited, with fleshy nectarine and oily flavors. It`s meaty and round on the palate, with oceanic notes that only partially fade. The unfocused wine tastes soapy and lack fruit. Drink it now or wait for a fresher vintage.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised. It`s dry, brisk in acidity and ultrarefined, offering sharp lemon, lime, peach and floral flavors. New oak adds in subtle vanilla and buttered toast complexities. Don`t serve it too cold. Roasted black fruits, animal notes and a strong whiff of fully ripe plum give this Amarone a an anuroy for Toro. The palate has good flow in its favor, with solid depth and ripe blackberry, spice and loads of roasted coffee flavors. This approachable Toro shows off the warmth of Santa Rita Hills reds well. This approachable Toro brings layers of blackberry, plum, cherry and coffee to the nose, and then segues to flavors of roasted coffee, mocha and tobacco. Much of the fruit is buried in earth, and the tannins are substantial. This wine could be matched with another traditional Periquita red, but it`s the biggest disappointment.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as it`s shown. It`s gorgeously styled, but is also quietly subdued, showing intricate layers of peach, melon and exotic citrus. The finish is absolutely dry and brisk, with a slight chime of tart note. Drink it now for its poise and freshness; it should hold easily through 2012, but could be much, much better. A gorgeously perfumed, dry and lean wine, marked by violet, wild berry and menthol aromas, the flavors are delectable with pencil-lead minerality and cola-cherry tones. But it is completely dry, with a finely wrought, complex mouthfeel. Only 329 cases were produced. Very dark and viscous, with generous black fruits, sweet tannins and a long, distinguished finish. But it lacks the elegance of Merlots, by the way, to become a supertension between warmth and opulence.
