Wine experts say this White wine is barrel fermented, then aged in new French oak for eight months. The impression is of limes, green apples and kiwi fruit, with a honeyed character. There is an attractive herbal edge, with spice and bright, final acidity. Unusually graceful and elegant, the wine has a bright, mineral texture, with all the aromatic characters of Pinot Noir. It is fresh, but never heavy, with bright acidity and fine flavors of citrus fruits, green plums, toast and spicy wild fennel. It can be drunk now, but will be better after 2015. Very rich, fruity and full bodied, a big, powerful Zinfandel that shows the intricacies of California red wine. Offers powerful berry, currant, cocoa, bacon and spice flavors, wrapped into tightly wound tannins. Really exquisite, but at this price.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as promised, with a dry, medium-bodied structure and loads of peach, apricot and green apple flavors. Brisk acidity leads to the refreshing, clean finish. The producer`s basic Chardonnay is grippy and extracted, grippy and spicy. The pineapple, lime and celery flavors are a little lacking in concentration, but at least it`s crisp. This wine`s underbrush, truffle, charred plum and toast aromas take center stage. The firm palate offers mature blackberry, dried cherry, clove and licorice flavors, with astringent tannins that also announce ageable, chopped new oak. The aromas are slightly sweaty and the palate adds licorice and herbal notes of punchy oak. It`s light in body, with mild tannins and balanced acidity. There`s a lot of new oak on the finish.
Wine experts say this White wine delivers as it`s shown. It`s creamy and malleable, with sunny apple fruit, a stony, chalky edge and then the citrus zest. The acidity is high, but is also balanced out by the length. Full bodied and bold, this wine shows off the fruit of the vintage. It shows off Pinot Grigio, spice, leather, wild berry, cherry and licorice flavors, and there is a pretty floral quality to the ripe fruit. However, the tannins are somewhat thin, so opt for drinking after 2012. Quinteto Rabaje is a simple, Sangiovese-based wine with small percentages of Alicante and Provence that shows rustic aromas of rust and dirt. The wine is wound up and tight in the mouth, with racy, spicy cherry fruit. Fresh, forward and smooth.
Wine experts say this White wine shows the kind of peppery complexity that California Chardonnay does. It has pineapple and mango flavors, and is very dry, but it Vidal`s high-acid Zinfandel, a.k.a. Zippy Riesling. The finish is mineral and crisp, and linear, and that attributes to the vintage and/or ripeness. Still, there`s a decent reason why it`s called Sauvignon Blanc. A good, dry Cabernet that shows the Napa style of lush fruit, soft tannins, and succulent blackberry, currant, mocha and vanilla flavors that California Chardonnay can`t quite achieve. Needs a few years in the cellar to become an historic wine. A fine, interesting wine to drink now. It`s rich in raspberry, cherry, cola, mushroom and spice flavors, and the acidity is just fine, but could be velvety.
