Wine experts say this White wine is barrel fermented, then aged in new French oak for eight months. The impression is of limes, green apples and kiwi fruit, with a honeyed character. There is an attractive herbal edge, with spice and bright, final acidity. Unusually graceful and elegant, the wine has a bright, mineral texture, with all the aromatic characters of Pinot Noir. It is fresh, but never heavy, with bright acidity and fine flavors of citrus fruits, green plums, toast and spicy wild fennel. It can be drunk now, but will be better after 2015. Very rich, fruity and full bodied, a big, powerful Zinfandel that shows the intricacies of California red wine. Offers powerful berry, currant, cocoa, bacon and spice flavors, wrapped into tightly wound tannins. Really exquisite, but at this price.
