Wine experts say this White wine delivers as advertised despite being somewhat hard and tannic. In fact, the tasting may be too demanding at this stage. The acidity seems underripe for the structure, and the fruit is missing. This has a slightly rustic character, with dry Granny Smith apple and apricot flavors, as well as a rustic sense of structure and acidity. It is not for aging. The vineyard is on Howell Mountain. It`s hard as nails in tannins, but the black currant, anise and spice flavors are rich and delicious. The acidity is high, but even this has enough structure to stand up to the powerful structure. High alcohol gives this wine a hot, prickly mouthfeel, but the flavors are fine, suggesting blackberries, black currants and raspberries, with a sprinkle of chocolate and pepper. It`s a complex wine, with a soft, sophisticated finish.
